With years of experience as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, educational consultant, and busy Westchester mother of two, Emily Rosen brings a host of expertise to accelerate your child’s learning. She believes strongly that meaningful instruction should incorporate opportunities for children to grow cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
Emily approaches coaching through the dual lens of academic, social, and emotional support in order to make sure her students reach their fullest potential. Drawing upon her lived experience understanding and managing her own anxiety and her background working with students from ages 4-14 dealing with a host of issues including those related to anxiety, she is an expert at deploying a variety of assessment tools and strategies in order create a plan for accelerating the academic growth of your child.
Outside of the classroom, Emily has honed her knowledge of content and pedagogy through her roles as program director and curriculum designer, and has also presented courses for teachers, created online modules, and reviewed and designed curriculum units for publication.
Currently, Emily is the K-8 Director at Bespoke Education, and formerly the Middle School Learning Specialist at Whitby School in Greenwich, Connecticut. She previously held a variety of positions in New York City schools. She was the literacy coach and grant coordinator at P.S. 188 in lower Manhattan, an elementary school teacher at P.S. 124 in Brooklyn, and a 3rd grade teacher at City & Country School, a Manhattan private school.
She received a M.S. Ed from Bank Street College of Education and B.A. in Government from Wesleyan University.
Emily resides in Larchmont, New York and has two nearly adult sons, one at Vanderbilt University and one soon-to-be freshman at the University of Wisconsin. They all enjoy cooking and eating together, playing with their dog Mikey, and rooting for the Knicks.
Artistic endeavors also play an important role in her life. She has pursued her passion for painting at the Pelham Art Center, and has further connected to her creativity by writing stories for children, conducting oral histories with family, and experimenting with printmaking and figure drawing.
